Show Results- Our first show of 2017!

March 3, 2017 By erinison

So, we finally went to a show for 2017 and what fantastic results for our beagles! This is the second year in a row I have won Best In Show at The Beagle Club of QLD Inc. Open Show. Last year was with Keeper at his last show before he was desexed, and this year was with his half sister Poppy at her first show of the year.

Not to be outdone, Poppy’s son, and our home bred boy Oscar (Asalei Golden Keepsake) was Reserve Dog (2nd best dog) and Minor in Show! I wasn’t going to show Oscar at this show as I just didn’t feel he was “ready” and past his gangly/fugly puppy stage, but he certainly proved me wrong! I am very excited about the dog he’s maturing into.

Keeper was awarded Best Neuter in Show at the same show he was BIS at last year. Judges always ask me “why neutered”? Yes, he’s a beautiful boy, and I would have loved to do big things with him as an entire dog, but at the end of the day, his health and ensure we have many many years with him, was more important than any ribbons he could have won. And, we have the best of both worlds now, he wins pretty ribbons, AND he’s fit and healthy and going to be around with us for a long while yet! We love our Keepie <3

Dinnies was placed 3rd of 7 entries in Intermediate Dog class, and was awarded Best Headed Dog.

Overall, a wonderful night for our beagles and a great start to the show year ahead!
