I don’t ever recall it being this hot for this long before.

We haven’t been doing much lately due to the extended periods of heat we’ve been having. I’ve been entered in dog shows, but haven’t been attending as the health and welfare of my dogs is far more important than any ribbon or points could ever be.

My babies spend most days inside in the aircon. They eventually venture outside about 4pm once it’s cooled off a little bit. We are heading into another hot weekend again this weekend with predicted temps at home of 37°C (98°F) and 39°C (102°F). There are dog shows scheduled for this weekend in hotter temps than at our house as they are further out west. I will never understand people putting their dogs through the stress of driving to a dog show in the hottest part of the day, and sitting in the heat… for no other reason than to attempt to win a ribbon or get those extra points for the point score. No ribbons or points are worth more than the life of my dog.

Once it starts to cool down again, we will be heading back to the show ring!

Our August litter have turned 6 months old and are just so beautiful. Hard to believe they are 6 months old, but it feels a lot longer ago than 6 months! Time just goes way too fast these days. Oscar is a gorgeous combination of his mother and father and we see so many traits of both of them in him. Now, if he could just stop taking everything inside out, and bringing everything outside in… that would be great!
